During December members of 'the Angels Running Club' have taken part in various races. The first was the 'Christmas Tree 5' an off road and undulating run held in the Forest of Dean on a cold and frosty morning. Taking part in this was Deborah Southgate who finished first Angel and in an improved time for the course of 42.32. Helen Bown, Louise Page, Dawn Hyde and Chris Ellis all ran the race for the first time. Their times were 48.04, 51.35, 52.03 and 60.38.
The league cross country the following week once again saw Deborah Southgate and Helen Bown in action. Louise Page made up the team running extremely well without specialist cross country shoes on a wet and slippery course.
The next local race was 'The Chocolate Biscuit' a five mile handicap held on Plock Court. Nicola Wong and Helen Bown were the participants from the club and both received prizes for finishing in the first 10.
The following day several 'Angels' competed in fancy dress at the popular Weston Christmas Cracker 10km. Times were Sarah Jones 52.59, Caroline Parker 59.06, Marilyn Heaton 59.47, Theresa Bennett 1.00.43, Chris Ellis 1.02.25, Dawn Hyde 1.02.26, Val Meechan 1.03.49, Steph Fox 1.04.50 and Eileen Dodwell 1.06.29.
On Christmas Day four Angel runners completed the 3 mile handicap. Nicola Wong was the quickest followed by Deb. Southgate and two novice runners Eileen Dodwell and Ruth Partlett.
On Boxing day Helen Bown ran with her niece in a two mile fun run for the charity Winston's Wish.
On 27th December the three runners who took part in the four mile race from the 'Pilot Inn' were rewarded with the lady team prize. 17 year old Naomi Smith and Theresa Bennett ran new P.Bs for the course in 35.38 and 36.11. Deborah Southgate finished in 31.12.

This year, for the Club's 20th Anniversary a group of Angels headed off to Bergerac in the West of France to see Inger and also to do the 5k or 1/2 marathon race around the town. It was a great weekend, it was great to meet up with Inger again and just very relaxing with plenty to eat and drink!
